Light-Blue Eyes

- OH MY GOD, MOM, THANKS!

Was everything I could shout... I can't believe my luck finished that day.

I've always been a Pokémon fan, since I was 5, and now even with my fourteen years, I'm still a fan. I've had a lot of Pokémon games: Gold, Crystal, Blue, Red, Yellow, Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, HeartGold and I was waiting for the new releases of Pokémon Black and White.

My mother, knowing I was a Pokémon fan, once came with a bag, which was handed to me. Her words, I can remember them. "Take it", she said. "Take it as your birthday gift", she repeated and then left.

I opened the bag and found a Pokémon cartridge. It was not like the ones I had before; it was totally black.
It looked like a Pokémon Diamond cartridge, but it had no title. In fact, the cartridge label only showed two light-blue eyes.

I was really happy, because that meant it was a brand-new game. I didn't want to research to know something else about the game, so I took my Nintendo DSi and, after I put my cartridge on it, I booted it.
The normal Nintendo DS healthy screen showed up, followed by the main menu. I choosed the game, which had the title of "POKÉMON" and the same two eyes as icon.

It ran directly into the Main menu: No splash screen, no "Gamefreak" credits, no introduction video. Nothing.

I didn't care, I wanted to see what the game was about.

Curiously, a headache started when I chose "New Game", but I normally suffered of them so I didn't really care. The game suddenly started, showing the protagonist -a really dark sprite- in Canalave City. Curiously, when I triggered the Menu, the personal option said "Andrew". My name is Andrew, but I thought that the protagonist predefined name was that. Only a coincidence.

How stupid I was.

I'll keep going on while I have time to: I ran inside the whole city, just to find nothing. No NPCs, no rivals, not even water: the lake was empty. I tried to enter into a house, but every house was empty.
I curioused the Bag, and found a Members Card. I tried to enter the Canalave Inn, and I could...

This is when the bad things started.

I didn't appear anywhere. Instead, the same two light-blue eyes appeared in the screen, looking to the front of the screen. Just where the normal gamer would be.

A text box appeared, with no frame. Only the white box and text:

"I've been expecting you for some time, sir"

I couldn't believe it. What was happening? I closed my eyes, but something made me open them just to find another text box.

"Should I introduce myself?"

Who was talking? I couldn't organize my mind.

"I know you're nervous: I can see you."

This wasn't a normal game... Wait... it said it could see me? but... how...

"Think. The most-announced feature of the console you have in your hands is..."

...the cammera. And it was pointing at me. As I started to go pale, another text-box appeared.

"I'm the one who pulls on all the strings son, and you must be lucky I haven't killed you where you stand."

...kill me...?

- MOM? -I shouted.

"Nobody's there."

...I was alone. And the game was right, I was alone at home.

"All hope is gone now. Your soul will be mine..."

No, this can't be real were my thoughts. My mind kept showing disturbing images, when the game wrote the final sentence:

"You're knocking on the devil's door".

Now it's almost midnight. The game is still turned on, in the corner. My mother, she's not here...
I have no more time left...
I can't sleep...
